For Upper Schoolers*: The SLS CPR mini-course will certify students through the American Red Cross in CPR/AED and First Aid. The primary purpose of the program is to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing, and first-aid emergencies. The program teaches participants the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed.
Upon completion of the course, students will receive a certification good for 2 years, and the cost of the course includes the certification fee.
Health mini-courses are also available for SLS students during the school year. Please contact
summer@gxitma.net with questions about the summer mini-courses. Any questions about the overall Health and Wellness graduation requirement should be directed to Director of Studies
Jim Yavenditti.
*This course will satisfy the graduation requirement for SLS students, and is also
open to 9th-12th graders from other schools who are interested in CPR training and certification.
